i stumbled upon 'magpie' products when visiting my family in sedgefield this weekend. above their dining table hung the most beautiful chandelier - literally recycled art.

desribed as a designer and a craft icon, Scott B. Hart founded Magpie in 1998 in the small town of barrydale, along with social entrepreneur and Ashoka Fellow, Shane A. Petzer. Since then they have added two more artists to the studio. The mission of Magpie is to reflect their compassionate ethical philosophy and imaginative approach in the handcrafted recycled products from design to execution (a mission which touches the roots of The Yevatree).

what caught my attention about magpie is the very sophisticated presence of their products which are handcrafted and made from recycled materials. They embody a truly professional and artistic approcah to recycling. and the products are of international standard - in 2009, Obama's wife installad Magpie chandeliers in the White House - hows that for upting our country.
